Machinery & Produce Storage Sheds - Calingiri, WA

The client farms a 2100 hectare property at Calingiri, WA with his wife and parents and were primarily grain growers although diversification has seen the family start planting sandalwood trees on marginal soils since the year 2000 to provide an additional income option which enables them to utilise their marginal land at minimal cost. In 2014 they required a shed for machinery and produce storage to facilitate the operation of the growing enterprise.

WHEATBELT STEEL’S ANSWER

The shed designed was an open front (40m x 24m x 7.5m) structure that incorporated a 3mtr cantilever awning cover on the open front side along with 8mtr bay spacings and a (16m) Clearspan truss which delivers a wide 16m opening for easy access for wider machinery. 1 x 8mtr sliding door was included on the back of the building to enable a full ‘drive through’ option. Tapered gutters were added to enable the client to channel all harvested rainwater to one end of the shed to storage tanks.
