The client owns and operates a 5,600 hectare farming programme in the central Wheatbelt district of Wyalkatchem. A machinery storage shed with a service workshop incorporated was required to support the large agricultural machines and implements involved with this operation including seeding bars, self propelled sprayers, harvesters, chaser bins, tractors and semi-trailers.

WHEATBELT STEEL’S ANSWER

A combined workshop (24m x 26m x 8m) and machinery storage shed (48m x 26m x 8m) with parallel cord web trusses and RSJ columns. 3 x 16m clearspans were part of the design to enable clear access in and out of the shed with the large machinery. The workshop area was fully insulated with a 300mm x 10m ridge vent to keep working conditions cool. A crane monorail was also incorporated into the design to assist with workshop duties.
