Hay Storage will save you $$$ by keeping your hay in prestine condition.

We have an enviable reputation for the quality of our hay here in Western Australia. This is mainly down to effective storage. One of the benefits of good storage being it prevents additional dry matter loss between start of storage and being fed to animals.

Where weather conditions permit, hay is stored in a three sided hay sheds, with the open side facing the prevailing wind. When storing your hay in your shed, it is ideal to have up to 60cm space between bails. This promotes air circulation, which helps maintain lower temperatures and maintain dryness.

Other effective storage solution for hay sheds include installing racks or vented flooring, so that the bails are well drained, with no possibility of damp ground. This will reduce loss due to moisture invasion through the bottom of the bail.

Wheatbelt Steel have worked closely with large hay producers such as Hay Australia and Gilmac to ensure that our hay sheds meet the requirements for maintaining hay in premium condition, year round in WA climate.
