When building sheds, the wind speed in the area you are building is a critical factor that can't be overlooked as it will have a major impact on the stability of your structure.

To get it right, it's important to know the wind region you are situated in.

It can be seen in the picture below that there are four wind regions in Australia:

The impact of wind speeds on your region should be allowed for in the engineering and design of the sheds you construct on your property. Wind ratings is the scale used when measuring the strength and stability of your shed. Buildings in Australia range from W28 to W60, and must comply with Australian Standard 1170.2.
